How many 1972 Malibus were made with 3 speed standard shift transmission?

many, it was the base setup for those cars, any high performance cars were floor shift 4 speeds if you are thinking it is rare, dont get me wrong though i would love to have a 72, but it isnt rare enough to want to leave stock if u are looking to modify

thousands of those cars were made back then automatic trannys were an extra cost option ,so if people didn't want to go for the extra bucks they got a 3 on a tree, but not hard to convert to 4 on the floor.what engine is in it?
