Question type: General

The vin number on the 1965 SS Impala is: 166375N149789. How I have
decoded that it was a V-8 SS with black interior. How can I tell what size
engin, transmission & rear end it was born with? Trim tag is ST 65-16637 NOR

Ideally you would find the build sheet that details what the car came with. Try checking under the rear seat, or under the carpet. A classic Impala forum would be able to where to look for your build sheet.

I have paid for a car search and all they could come with was that it was a 1965 SS Impala. I also visited two Chevy dealerships parts department without any luck. My only hope was that General Motors had records of the production numbers which will tell me exactly what was in the car and how it was built. Any and all help is welcome. RJV
