can a duplicate key be made by home depot or anywhere that makes keys.

lost my spare key, can I have a duplicate made anywhere or is there a chip in my key.  I
have a 2005 Chevy Cavalier.

Do you have another key? You said you lost the spare. If you have another and the blade of the key has no PK3, a + or circle around the +, then it can be made anywhere. If you have no keys at all you have to go to a dealer, with a lot of info about you and the cavalier. It's part of the Patriot act and I'm not even kidding.
