Any interchangeable parts between years?

Asked by Guru95PHBY Jan 14, 2021 at 12:01 PM about the Saab 9-3

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have a 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0T convertible. It
was in mint condition until a few months ago,
when my husband was in a head-on collision.
Airbags deployed, roll bars too. The front end
is obviously smashed, and my husband hit his
head on the windshield, so that’s busted too.
However, the car still runs fine. We got it for
free from a very good friend, and it has
sentimental value, so my husband wants to fix
it. Are there any other model years which have
ANY interchangeable parts? Hood,
windshield, front end suspension, head lights,
ANYTHING? We have an opportunity to pick
up a 9-3 for almost nothing, but it’s a 2003
model. Not sure if it’s even worth having a
second non-driving car in my yard.

There was a refresh of the 9-3 from 2003 to 2004 and another in I think 2007 so probably not. I would be unlikely that anything from the 2003 would be usable on your 2008. Best to check with a still existing former Saab dealer parts department or a Saab parts shop.
