The exterior door handle assembly includes a small arm that reaches inside the door and hooks to the linkage that connects to the latch, lock , inside handle etc. It is often that small arm that breaks. It is only sold as an assembly. Of course it never hurts to remove the interior panels and verify what is actually broken before spending money on parts.
