why wont 2005 grand prix start?

drove car home shut it off. went out later and car wouldn't start. got spark . don't hear fuel pump but pump is good .if u take neg. battery cable of for a while and put it back on it starts and runs for few seconds and dies. fuel pump relay don't work unless u reset car by taking neg battery cable off for awhile and then works and dies after few seconds

I believe the other end of your black 1/0 battery cable as it attaches to the frame, ain't gettin' good contact. wirebrush the terminal and place where it connects down to metal for a good contact...the battery if more than seven will force the alternator put out more and more...all the time...

security light on? or blinking, try another key, maybe chip in key not making the trip.clean ignition switch with contact cleaner or something

jump the fuel pump relay, if car starts bad relay, replace. if car still wont start, check pump pressure at rail should be around the 40psi plus mark
