Evo 9 was lighter and therefore faster. Evo 10 is heavier but has a new AYC handling system which makes it more solid and precise in cornering maneuvers. The body is a bit less flashy with this new generation as well. What more do you want to know?

wat the 1 foward shift u do wen upshiftin 2 the nxt higher gear ?

Its redesigned to be more everyday friendly. Better and more comfortable steering, a throttle that lags due to the new fly-by-wire throttle and a less raw acceleration that feels kinda...european. Slightly poorer performance than its predecessor but a better car to own overall. Engine's still mod friendly and HKS and Tomei will give you all the wonders you need, making it relatively easy to get past 450bhp. Adjustable AWD = fun. Stick with the manual version, double clutch is for wussies.

that may b tru 2 u but thats ur opinion , but if u were tlkin bout compared 2 the market rite now i'd hav 2 come very close 2 agreeing

635

Dont say stuff like that here. People get very heated when comparing cars.

relax its a joke. Could be true, but its a joke. I personally think this is one of the best looking sedans out there in its price range

but i agree wiz u john it's amazing car ,,but i think the FQ400 reach 404 bhp right??

635

Nah its cool. Its just that arguments about different cars is getting a bit tiring.

635

It can go way beyond that. You just need a serious garage.

535

With the manual transmission you have a lot more modification options. The double clutch auto will burn like road flares under an aggressively driven 500hp. As with the Evo 9 this thing doesn't take much to get to 500 crank hp. A larger intercooler perhaps, maybe a better exhaust manifold, definitely some cams, performance coilpacks, and then just reprogram to 30 psi peak boost...

well i dont like the way the new ones look cept for this white one shown in the topic but other then that its a bit heavier and slower

135

One of the most amazing cars ever, the 4b11t is one of the best designs with the almuminum head, 0-60 in 4.5, EASILY push 400+ HP with slight chipping.. haha i want the 6 speed MR edition!!!!!

135

Saying the evoX is slower then the evo IX is a common misconception, Haha come on people, ever watch topgear or any of the shows like that? like someone else just said the AYC keeps the car handling much better, but the engine has been designed differently from the IX, so it makes up for the weight... Dont get me wrong, i Love the IX [or older ones] But these ones KILL.. lol

the trans that comes in the MR isnt an automatic, its a dual clutch manual. same type of thing thats in the gtr. it shifts alot faster and it lets you keep you hands on the wheel and one foot on the brake and the other on the gas. so ur saving time in between shifts, braking, and accelerating this all translates to better lap times. but realisticly if your gonna push over 550 you should think about swapping the trans anyway...cuz the 5speed thats in there is about as technologically advanced as my flip flops. so if your really thinking about getting one, than read up on em, and if ur planning on modding to the 600 and up range then buy a 5spd, but plan on swapping it out. otherwise get the dual clutch, its far superior.

Yeah, the dual clutch SST is nice, but alot of people we talking about the SLIGHT Lag it has from a dead stop, other than that its a crazy lol, off the line they are slower, but im SURE they easily catch right back up

10

...and the evo was never meant as a drag car, sure u can use it as one. but your wasting a whole lot of technology. the improvements made to the X were to make it better overall, which is alot more than just straight line speed.

635

The slight lag isnt from the clutch. Its from the electronic throttle. The older evo's used a throttle cable instead.

135

lol yeah, also the S-AWC analyzes the grip from the tires, and ajusts torque accordingly

10

well if your planning on modding the car you can change the throttle response, its not that big of a deal

135

hahha you got a point, but i think i'd still wanna stick with a normal 5 or 6 speed =D

10

...yeah, but you cant get a normal 6spd and the 5 spd in there blows. if you read any of the reviews on it they all say its horrible. so you either have to go all out with your mods and replace ur trans with something aftermarket or you stick with the dual clutch.

135

Yeah, didnt know that about the X, i just like a manual because you have more say in what the car does, [for gears] if the car thinks your going to over rev the engine it prevents you from downshifting, if it doesnt like how your got it sitting in red line it shifts for you, [normally, like i said ive never been in a SST , lol so correct me if im wrong] lol so thats why i stick with a real clutch and lever

10

well ive never personally driven one, but its supposed to have a pretty big tolerance. mitsu knows what kinda car it is and how people are going to drive it, if you wana drop it down into third and get ur revs up its not going to automatically shift up like it would on alot of the automatic transmissions out there that allow "manual" gear selection. the gtr is the same way. you can race these cars all out and the trans doesnt "interfere" with your gear selection.

135

Lol nice, that makes it sooooo much better, i hate cars that they call "Manual" but you have little control on what it REALLY does..
