Tailights not working

I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport the break lights had quit working but tailights
and indicator lights were still working well I put it in the shop and they got the
break lights to start working but the tailights quit working dont know if its bad
bulbs or a bad fuse couldnt figure it out yesterday

You need a multi tester to see what has power/ground and what don't , I can't believe a garage couldn't figure this out , The nerve ! If the brake and turn signals share a bulb then the brake light may run through the directional switch , strange as that may sound
Who knows what the shop idiot did? Initially, I'd suspect that the brake light switch was worn out or out of adjustment. But now, the idiot might have fixed that and damaged something else. I'm guessing that they just blew the brake light fuse.
