figuring out transmission temp.

i'm trying to change my transmission fluid in my 2011 VW CC sport. I order everything i needed and i also down loaded the software VCDS to determine the temp. of my transmission so i can disconnet the VAS 6262 between 35c-45c. but one big problem, i dont have the OBD2 ll VAG 2.5 interface cable! lol... and i cant find it anywhere, but on line! is there anyother way i can determined the temp. with out it? crazy as it must sound, i thought about using  a regular digital thermometer to the bottom of the trasmission! I've already converted celcius to farenheite! Can anybody help me out here????

Why are you changing the fluid?This is supposed to be a permanent fill.If you want to do the job then you will need to invest in the proper tooling,do not want to invest?then leave it to a pro that already has invested,Auto repair is not to be taken lightly ,Want to play got to pay!

Whoa. Incorrect info Mr. Garageman. VW revised it's original "lifetime" trans fluid to reflect every 40,000- 50,000. The lifetime sealed fluid was intended for only 100,000 miles to begin with--which is what they construed to be the life of the vehicle for the 1st owner. Ford, Dodge, Chyrsler and several others have started to do the same in they're lines---and some have been for over 10yrs. This leads to the reason why the say lifetime. It all has to do with the warranty. Too many drivers putting in too much fluid or incorrect types. They want to to go to dealer, which is why you have to "pay to play'. There are ways around it. The VW vag van be replaced with an ELM327 obd2 USB tool, which costs @$10. then Download free app Torque from playstore. To insert fluid, I use a Waterpick. yep. it works perfect. Bam, Mr Garagan, No more "pay to play--be careful what others say".
