I just purchased a 1998 vw cabrio convertible. I love it. I went to a vw dealership in Harrisburg, Pa and asked if they had any manuals for a 1998 or if they could order one? They said No!
I need to obtain a manual for a 1998 vw cabrio gls convertible. A VW dealership pretty much gave us the cold shoulder and said to go to ebay. They said VW stopped making them many years ago. I asked all the way up to 2002 and they said, "nope, don't have any and we don't make any", ok, I get it and I asked several mechanics and they didn't know anything either. Does anybody know how to get a 1998 vw cabrio manual for the car? Please help.

Have you tried http://www.haynes.com/products/productID/227 .... or chilton manuals
Search eBay using " 1998 VW manual". Sort the list by "Price + shipping lowest first". It should show owners and repair manuals.

The VW shops will not tell you that certain VW's parts will fit a Cabrio and if you can find parts in the junk yards that is a plus for you...I have a 99 VW Cabrio convertible ...love it and many parts came out of a junk yard. The dealership wanted to take my dash apart and God only knows how much but my son said no, it was the ac and he went to the junk yard and got the part and it works fine...love my Cabrio.
