why does my check engine light come on

i am driving and my check engine light comes on and all my dash goes out and then it
stays in 2nd gear and now it sputters...

I am drving and mu tranmission light comes on, i have changed belt and tge both sensors. It still stutters

2nd Gear is "Limp Mode" letting you still move your car without hopefully doing too much more damage to it. Don't over-rev the engine! Just be happy that it is letting you do 30 mph or so and get the car to your home or mechanic. All the dash going out sounds weird... maybe a computer/electronic problem. My daughter's went into limp mode when it slipped a few teeth on the timing belt.
