Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Problem started about a month ago vehicle was running then died. i diagnosed problem to fuel via starting fluid. then realized fuel pump was not running, pounded on it with a hammer it still would not start, so i sprayed a little more starting fluid in it and it continued to run until now. I have replaced fuel pump relay, fuel pump, fuel pump wiring harness, all to no avail fuel filter is clean

check the ECM fuse to see if blown.you may have gotten a bad FP.do you here a humming sound when you first turn key switch on,if not one of the above.

Ecm fuse is good, is there a way to test the ecm to make sure it is good. already thought about the possibility of a bad fuel pump. Is there a way to test the system to check the fuel pump after the tank is back up. Are there any other possibilities that would keep the pump from getting the signal

a computer scan will let you know,if scanned and no scan comes up the computer is bad,it works with the ECM.as asked,do u here a humming when u turn on key switch.if not bad FP or a wire is unhooked.

Found problem wires on after market fuel pump change colors and so pump was wired in reverse sucking fuel versus pumping it thanks all
