Looking into a 1972 Ford Galaxy 500 4 door with a 400 cui for $850 with some
friends to fix up. The car ran a few years ago but has been sitting since.
Minimal rust is present and I personally think the car has potential. What should
be considered for this car?

Are you planning to keep the car, turn it into a potential future classic? There are many things to consider in the area of classic vehicles. I do not say this in a derogatory way, but first of all is good knowledge in this area. Overall mechanical problems, body condition, interior, if all power equipment works (a/c, seats, windows), etc. Are you and your friends able to undertake all that is required to make the vehicle stand out? Do you have the time it takes to invest in the project? Money? I have seen this Ford selling for $4,000 (average condition) to $15,000 (excellent), asking price. I say all this because I have a 1957 Ford Fairlane full factory power, with original two tone paint and original interior, kept in garage for 24 years, it is in perfect shape, but it took me and my cousin almost 3 years working weekly on the car and good money to bring it up to this shape.
