I have a 1994 GMC Safari Minivan. The linkage to the back door has come loose from the handle. How do I get the back doors open ? I can't figure how to get the inside panels off to get to the linkage.

Hi Roy. I'm assuming you have the two tall barn door style doors. I had the same problem with my 95 Safari. It appears that the panel can't be removed, but it actually can,(at least to a point where you can reach the inner mechanism). You want to go inside with a good flashlight and remove any and all screws on the passenger side panel. I don't remember if the speaker needs to be removed, but I would do it anyway. Now take a big, flat screwdriver, on the passenger side, pry the panel off where the doors meet in the middle. There are snaps holding it on, but you should be able to bend it away enough to shine the light and find the lever where the linkage came off. push it with your fingers and the doors should open. Once the doors open, you can easily finish removing the panel and repair the linkage. I hope this helps. Good luck!
