4L80E

Asked by jjg Feb 20, 2009 at 03:13 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Suburban

Question type: Car Customization

Will a 4L80E from a 2001 Suburban work for a 1998 Suburban?

I am typing the question for my husband who is on the road so please be kind with the answer if I haven't included enough info.

I am quite sure they will bolt on together but the electronics will not plug in; I believe the harness is different. Now you can get a 4l80E from any '94 or '95 to '99 GM truck (not even a Suburban) to fit. Hope that helps.
