I have a 1998 gmc silverado and i swaped the originale engine to a 383 with TBI and my concern is do i need to reprogram the computure in order in this case??

itwas giving me poor gas.As i press down on the gas peddle it takes a a few
moment for the truck to accelerte normal.

98 gmc truck should have been a vortex not tbi. Did you swap to tbi? You will need a tune. If you put a lumpy cam in it it will struggle to idle because it needs to see vacuum pressure at idle.
