Remove locking mechanism from rear differential?

i have taken out the pin from the rear differential and can not figure out how to
remove the locking mechanism. posi lock. 1997 chevy silverado k1500 4x4
z71.
(it is a 97 i could not select that choice)

What are you trying to do? Remove axles? If so push in on the axles a little bit, then there should be a "C" clip to remove.
