Prius Transmission Slipping?

Asked by Justrin Aug 18, 2020 at 09:54 PM about the 2008 Toyota Prius

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Prius. The red triangle of death
is on along with the VSC, check engine, and
orange circle in brackets with exclamation
point. It drives fine for the first ten minutes,
then loses Acceleration and won’t go over 20
miles an hour once you’ve slowed down or
stopped. If the car is turned off and back on,
the problem goes away for 5-10 minutes or
so. When you’re on the gas petal the
consumption screen showS output from the
gas engine to the electric motor and wheels
[orange and yellow arrows], but when you let
off the gas petal, there are no arrows at all.
So, I’m guessing the wheels aren’t sending
regenerative power from the hybrid system.
The screen goes black. Any ideas?

Hey did you ever figure the problem out with your car because I think I'm having a similar issue
