2008 toyota prius charging system

Asked by Guru9TQ7L Jun 16, 2017 at 04:52 PM about the 2008 Toyota Prius FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello on my 2008 toyota prius i noticed that the car wouldent start. I figured
that this was due to the 12v battery so I went and checked its voltage and it
was low so i bought a new one. A few weeks later the new battery also had
low voltage so I checked for parasitic draw and there was none. I was later
told it was the charging system which is inside the hybrid inverter... what
should I do

There is a DC/DC converter fuse and plug. Make sure that the white plug by the positive lead on the 12v battery is in all the way. Also check the fuse next to it.

Check the electric water pump. It cools the invertor which will stop charging when its hot
