The 2000 Cavalier only came with a 2.2L or 2.4L engine, not a 2.1L. So which one do you have? What are the symptoms? No start? Quite while driving?

u need to state if it turns when cranking or seized. also if it turns, is there any sounds of the valves.

Hello I have a 2001 chevy cavalier and yesterday morning I tried to start my car and turned over the key and it did absolutely nothing. There was no clicking or winding noises only noise I heard was my fuel pump kicking on. All my lights are working normal and so is my radio. I tried jumping it just to make sure it wasn't an issue with my battery but it still wouldn't start. What could be the problem? 4 answers

Last week I had the water pump and thermostat replaced on my 2003 Cavalier. the engine is now making a noise and has a fairly harsh vibration at low rpm. I took it back to the place that did the repairs and they are saying now that the timing chain and the balance shafts need replaced. The car was fine otherwise before I had the water pump replaced and I feel as though perhaps they did not do a proper repair. any thoughts? 6 answers
