My mistake the 350 is not a big block obviously

it's a straightforward swap, you won't have any problem with it, it comes down to what you ultimately want, a running engine versus one with "issues". There's plenty of power in that 350 for your car.

The 87's never came with a 403. A 350 is a good choice.

The 403 was swap out not the original. I’m probably going to have to get a new tranny also. What’s your recommendation for that engine?

Thank you for all the quick help. Again this is my first project car and I’m just finding more and more issues(frame was cut to accommodate wheels, suspension is too tight..I can go on) but still want to put some time into it
