how do i make my rims fit?

i have a 86 cutlass i bought 22 inch rims and they wont fit around my hub
caps. what do i need to do to make them fit? change the wheel assembly?

A ten pound sledge hammer if all else fails.

And if that doesn't work a 20 pound sledge. Why in the wide wide world of sports do you want 22" wheels? If you bought new wheels, you spent half of what the '86 Cutlass is worth. But there are adapters. But then the offset is way off and the load is not centered on the wheel bearing, and will go maybe 1000 miles before burning up bearings
