my engine light is on. the code reads po449 . code says that my evap valve is no good. i ave replaced it and the gas cap and it still will not clear. what do i need to do now

Try taking the battery off for about 10 mins, if that doesn't work you will need to have the code(s) cleared that assuming that the repair has been done correctly.

There is EVAP canister purge valve and EVAP fuel tank vent valve. When tank pressure sensor detects pressure, as in when putting gas in it opens to allow fumes and air out. Each has a solenoid, that even if you only replaced valve but not solenoid it may not have solved the problem and joemom has good advice but the code will not clear re-appear shortly if you replaced the non-faulty valve or solenoid
