Acceleration problems

Asked by Nicole Dec 03, 2018 at 12:03 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Cobalt, 5 speed manual and it is
having trouble accelerating like it should. The rpms
move as they should however there is a lag going
on. Similar feeling/acceleration as when you shift
to early/low rpms. I'm lucky if I can reach 45mph in
a 5 mile stretch. Gas pedal to the floor and rpms
don't jump and I don't accelerate. Any help is much
appreciated.

Have it scanned for trouble codes. There's likely information stored in the computer. That should always be one of your first steps.
