Batter light comes on on my 2008 chrysler sebring

I was driving my car and my battery light came on.
My car then stayed in one gear, not switching at all.  
I pulled off the road and when I parked and turned
my car off it was completely dead. No lights,
sounds, nothing. I was able to get a boost and
head to the auto parts to to get brand new battery.
After my battery was installed I drove home and
half way home my battery light came back on. The
next day when I stated the car the light was off and
maybe 3 miles out it came back on along with 4
other lights. And when I used my left blinker, i
would hear a beeping sound. Why is this
happening?
