Usually the jack goes behind the front wheel and pushes on the body seam. There should be a diagram with the jack and in the owners manual.

There is normally a long strip of double folded metal that trails between the front and rear tires. you should see an indent at the front and an indent for the rear. That is where the jack goes.

EXCITING....That's what is used to jack the car? Sounds like I'll be using a piece of plywood to support the weight of the car so as to NOT damage it.
