How do I reset the 'Check Engine' light on 2008 Chevy Impala LX?

Check Engine light keeps coming on, code states gas cap, replaced gas cap
but twenty minutes after it was reset at the garage it came on again, code
states same issue. How can I reset the Check Engine light to make it go off?

This is a problem with the EVAP system. You need to have a smoke test done to find out exactly where the EVAP system is leaking and repair it. Some leaks are too small to be seen with the naked eye. With an EVAP trouble code the gas cap is always the go to fix which, unfortunately, usually doesn't fix the problem. If your shop doesn't have a smoke machine, visit a shop that does. You probably have another leak in the EVAP system.
