Charging system failure, with computer controlled charging systems it’s hard to say if it’s an alternator or if the computer went out. Definitely something your favorite shop needs to check out.

Sounds like a charging system problem. Possibly a bad alternator. The ignition system needs electricity to run the engine. When the alternator stops working the engine will run off the battery until the battery is dead. Even a brand new battery will go dead if the alternator is not working. Hope that helps! Jim

Js08016 sounds like he is right on track. Battery is charged by the alternator so if the alt is bad or nor making current flow to the bat, the bat will run out and the car will die. Equally likely is the new bat is dead and failed. Local parts stores have the ability to check out both and determine what failed.
