Just inherited a 1971 Porsche 911 coupe. no owners manual//
looking for the dipstick in order to check the oil as the oil light come on as soon as i start the car..

such a nice car. send it to me lmao ;). if not take it to a VW dealership they can help you, those older 1991 motors were mint but finicky.

Does the light stay on solid or does it kind of flicker when idling? On most older Porsches, the oil light tends to flickering at idle then goes out as the rev rises.

Yes - as stated above. The dipstick is cleverly hidden inside the oil fill cap inside the rear fender. Oil must be checked after car is at normal operating temperature and at idle. This also applies to the oil level gauge on the dash.
