My car sometimes loses power while I am driving it and it jumps like a horse. Would a
computerized diagnosis help find the issue.

You can get the codes read at the parts store or a repair shop. Some scanners will detect pending codes. Those are stored codes that will eventually light the Check Engine Light if they happen more often. -- How are your spark plugs and air filter? Replacing them is cheap, easy and won't hurt anything if they were good.
