buying a 75 VW Beetle

I am going to look at a VW beetle and wanted to know what the value would be.  I do not know the mileage but the current owner says it is good condtion and garage kept.  The asking price is $3500.  Is this reasonalbe?  Any help is appreciated.

little high i think,1,700 to 2,500 sounds good.the car did not cost that new.
