1975 beetle cylinder won't fire.

I can't figure this out! The rear right cylinder is giving me trouble. The car will
run with the plug wire out of the distributer cap but when I plug it in it cuts out
and ends up quiting. I have changed all the plugs, wires, points, condenser,
coil and fuel injectors. It was running fine but recently started this trouble.
What else can I check? Thanks, Roger.

Have you accidentally gotten the plug wires mixed up at the distributor cap? Pretty sure that there is no fuel injector on a 1975 VW Beetle.

Of course '75 VWs are Injected the Bosch L-Jetronic, same system as Porsche...Unless someone removed this converted to carbs..Regards

Yes it is fuel injected and it has not been converted. I tried switching around the wires with no help. Of course the book I have is not as descriptive for wire placement as I would like.

I have to leave for work.... if you don't get a proper answer check back to night. quiet familiar with injection systems and VW.. type 1,2,3,4, Maybe there's VW expert who can ANSWER you.
Well, I learned something today. Also I was wrong and that doesn't happen very often. LOL.

So I think it is the fuel pump. It ran great then it quit. I turn on the key and no sound from the fuel pump. There isn't even any power to the connections on the fuel pump. Is it a sensor???
