will 16x8 corvette rims work on a 69 vw beetle,..if so what modifications will have to be done?

I want to put a 5 star rim on my 69 vw beetle bolt pattern 4x130mm,...i found a set of
corvette 16x8 bolt pattern 5x4.75 that i really like. i hate to buy the rims and then find out
that it will not work.
