88 xj i'd like to keep the original rims they are 15's so whats the biggest size tire i can put on them i'm looking at 33's does anyone know

I have 33 12.50 15 on standard rims on a 1999 Cherokee XJ No problems but you will need to lift it to stop them rubbing when the suspension flexes. They will rub like hell when on full steering lock as well. I have 2 inch spacers that help.

With "0" lift, about a 30x9.5 15. If you want to run 33's, about 4 inches of lift and some trimming. 35's, 6.5 with some trimming.
