90 Dodge ram 318 eng. 8 cyl. problem: runs well ; apply brakes to come to a stop; eng. shuts down . replaced brake booster . problems still presist. odimeter dosen't work.

1) odometer has nothing to do with what you describe. I am thinking vacuum leak, when you apply brakes the vacuum consumed by the booster overwhelms the system and stalls the motor

May have issue with transmission converter. Mine did the same thing off and on, Change filter and transmission fluid. problem gone.
