Paint is considered 60% of your car. If altered 60% of the drive train what do you think it would do to the value? Bolt on parts don't affect numbers matching prices much. A paint job can affect it a lot. Part of it has to do with the orginal color. Some enthusiast will accept a color change but you limit your market. If someone bought it and want to put it back orginal it's several thousand dollars of work to paint it back properly. Most will want to reduce what they pay for it by that amount. On the other hand.....headers are no big deal. All that being said, if you're going to keep your car for years to come, fix it the way you want it and don't worry about price. (I will say this however, don't put a 70 model only color on it.)

One more thing, it's a 318 car..........you can get away with whatever you want when it's a convertible.
