What would cause a shift solenoid B to be
stuck off

an 18 year old car has plenty of sludge floating around and a solenoid shaft will jam , heat up, become weak , burn out ,

a solenoid pak like five or six come as a unit to bolt to the transmission valve body and plug in the wire connectors, remove the pan, drain the fluid , remove the solenoid's
