location of cruise control switch

where is the cruise control switch located. My cruise control worked intermitatly and now does not work at all. I wondering if it could be the switch?

If your cruise control switch is on the steering column, the switch is either right there, or just beneath it. I believe you might be talking about the cruise control servo which is located under the hood and usually looks a bit like a flying saucer with a couple of vacuum hoses attached to it. The switch is wherever you turned it on when you activated cruise -- if in the stalk where your turn signals are, that's the switch; if in the steering wheel, that's the switch right beneath it.

how do i get the end of the stalk open to play with the switch to see if something is disconnected or worn, or to replace it? bruce
