Car won’t start

I have a 1999 Vw beetle. If I drive for 20 minutes
and then stop,turn off my car and wait for 10
minutes-an hour my car won’t start. It cranks and
won’t start unless I step on the gas pedal.  It starts
when it sits for 3 or more hours.    What could be
wrong?

That just happened to my 2005 and it was the alternator...the cars not getting a strong enuf connection from the battery. Or have ur battery checked and hopefully that's it.
