There are loads of things you can do to get more power out of the car. If the motor is still in good condition the easiest and cheapest thing is a tune. You can buy a pre-made tune or do it yourself (or with some help) using T7 Suite from ECUProject.com. It's an open source tuning solution for Saabs. If you want to go the "new motor" route, find the motor, turbo and ECU out of a 2000-2002 SE. It's a straight drop in and will give you the stock SE 210hp. The transmissions are the same in the base and SE models. And for something in-between you can keep the motor you have (it's the same except for the tuning and the turbo), and swap in the different parts from the SE. The easiest and cheapest is the tuning option. With some preparation you can have it done in a weekend and you should have no problems getting 200+hp out of the stock base 9-3.

thanks a lot, do u know how much that would cost? and another question, is there an avaiable drivetrain swap, (go from FWD to RWD or AWD) I;ve heard of rumors that there are some, or are those custom one-off projects?
