Gasoline odor

After I have driven my '96 Miata for a half-hour or more and park it in my garage, it
gives off a strong gasoline odor for the next couple of hours.  There are no leaks,
no puddles on the floor.  It makes no difference if the fuel tank is full or only 1/4
tank.  The fuel filler overflow hose is clear. The car
only has 38,000 miles on it. The repair shop could find nothing wrong.  I am afraid
my garage is going to catch fire due to the fumes. Any ideas?

I know you said there is no leak but a very small leak on the top of the engine from the injector lines can cause gas to vaporize and smell very strong. I would look for a leak immediately after shutting the engine off.
