I don't have much of an answer but i'm having a similar problem with my 94 2.2 sonoma. I bought it used 2 months ago.,. It would crank for 10 seconds before starting. I was on my way to get the exhaust redone (it fell off i got carbon monoxide poisoning and ended up in the hospital) but the gas line ended up getting pinched because the tank was held up with by ratchet straps. I dropped the tank and found the fuel pump was brand new but when i put the tank back correctly the car wouldn't start! it seemed like the ground was messed up. so we set up a bypass wire from the pump to the fuse pannel ( we connected it to the power windows fuse so the pump would turn on as soon as the truck starts.) This worked and got the truck to the mechanic and i had my exhaust and a tune up done. well last week the mechanic was able to get it start without the bypass wire but it would still be 10 seconds before it started. Last week on the highway it shut off and took five minutes before it started up again. the next day i couldn't go more than five minutes before it stalled, now i had to wait 10 min before it would start, now it doesn't start at all. My dad had a saturn ( i know different car entirely) that did this and found it was the ignition control module. I changed it but it didn't make a difference. I checked the relay fuses, they get power. i did a fuel pressure gauge test but the needle barely moved as i cranked it. today i am going to reconnect the bypass wire and see if that works again until i can figure out what the real problem is. I'm hoping it's just a wiring issue and not something expensive like a pump or timing issue . Good luck! Please provide an update if you were able to figure out the problem!
