Question type: Car Customization

I am trying to decide what to put on my truck as far as wheels are concerned.  It is hard to make an assessment when I can’t see what they actually look like on?  Anyway, I have 305 65R17 tires BF Goodrich .  I have a 2 inch body lift on my GMC Sierra 1500 Z-71.  I want the tires to look good and I want the tire profile to come out from the truck a little and I was not sure what it would actually look like on my truck? I was also, not sure of offset. Can you all lead me in the right direction. Does anyone have a truck pic that I can look at? I need a 6 lug rim.  Thanks in advance.

I run 31's or 33's on my truck. the 31's get better mileage than the 33's, but for rims I went with polished steel, They are a little harder to hurt when you are off-roading and I find that the Alumium, and Mags leak way to much when they are on a truck (4x4 really bad) after a year or two. As for looks that is a personal taste, I might not like something that you like and vis-ver-sa. As for the tires I find that almost everybody has BF tires, I personally like the Goodyear "Roughriders" for the 31's. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I am kind of new when it comes to tires. What is the difference in what I have and in the 31's or 33's? The reason I am asking is I have a 9 inch rim now and my tires do not profile from the truck well. I would like to have them come out from the wheel well and the truck a little. I was told a 10 inch rim with some offset might look good? What do you think? Thanks for your reply. I also asked a gentleman yesterday who had 33X12.50 R15. They looked dern good on his jeep. I am lost a little. Maybe you could guide me?

you have 305 tires (i do beleive that the 305 stand fo 305mm wide), so your tire is 305mm wide, the side wall is 65% of your width the R means it is a radial and it is for 17 inch rims, hence the 305 65R17. The 31's are 31 Inches and the 33 are 33 inches, If you want a wider stance you can get some spacers. A friend has a 07 GMC Z-71 with 33's they look good, but he notices the "pull" on the steering wheel when he gets in, he is 6ft 5"?? the 33x12.50R15 means 33 inches HIGH (not width) 12.50 inches wide R means it is a radial and it is for a 15 inch rim. A nice set of tires for your truck is 31X9R17 they are made by goodyear and they will fit your rims. Best of luck
