heritage model is the previous model before the current model change. If youre looking for parts and accesories i suggest you look for 97-2003 parts, theyre the same. Heritage F-150 refers to previous model leftovers on the lot and the plant. Hope this helps you out.

I just purchased a 2004 f150 and was looking for aftermarket nerf bars to install and i kept finding this answer in my searches. Defining what a heritage model is didn't help me in figuring out what to look for to determine if mine is the heritage model so.... A 2004 F150 heritage model can be identified from the 2004-2008 new body style by 2 things. 1- Rest your arm on the door. if your arm is flat, you have the heritage model, if there is a large ~2" hump halfway across the surface such that your elbow is higher than your hand, you have the new body style. 2- Look at the front bumper where the fog lights are. The heritage model has a hump where the bumper meets the grill, the new body style is flat as in this picture: Cheers!
