How can I tell if I have an XL or XLT model of the 2004 F-150 Heritage ?

Asked by GuruL9TDQ Mar 19, 2019 at 03:34 PM about the 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage 2 Dr XL Standard Cab SB

Question type: General

Details: 2004 F-150 Heritage, V6, 4.2L, 2WD, regular cab, 5-speed Manual
trans, A/C, manual windows, manual door locks.
QUESTION: I bought this truck second hand and the previous owner was a
DIE HARD Lobos (New Mexico) fan. He covered up all exterior model plates
with plates denoting LOBOS. He did it on both side fenders.
Personally,  I could care less if the LOBOS plates remain, as I'm sure I'd end
up destroying the OEM FORD model plates anyway if I tried to remove the
overlaying LOBOS plates. (Then I'd have to buy 2 new side panel model
plates to repair the possible damage.)
QUESTIONS:
1. Would my VIN # disclose the model of truck I actually have?
2. Would it tell me whether it is an XL or XLT model?
Thanks in advance
