changing water pump in 2003

Asked by clawson Jan 20, 2009 at 02:30 PM about the 2003 Dodge RAM 2500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What's involved in changing the water pump in a 2003 2500 5.9 cummings. Do I need to take the radiator out. I've changed the one on my jeep. Is it about the same. Take the fan off, belt and replace?

Hmm... I wanna say you take the turbo inlet off, then the accessory belt, and for some reason I wanna say the alternator(dunno why)? I think there are 3 bolts on the pump itself holding it to the block. Dunno for sure it's been too long, take a look and see if that makes sense
