How do i replace a coolant sensor on a 1991 Buick Regal 6cyl 3.8L

It should be on the passenger side of the radiator at about battery level. Remove the battery and you will see a square opening ,,drain about a gallon of coolant from the radiator to get the level below the sensor , ,, remove the electrical connector , next you will see a square retainer wire ,,,, get the wire off the assembly then pull the sensor straight out .... you will probably see a copper probe coated with gunk .. get a new one because if you clean it off it may only last a couple months before it fails again
