Why is my coolant drain plug leaking

I recently drained and filled my coolant system through the
drain plug/petcock and after I put it back and tightened it it
started to leak through it

You filled the radiator through the petcock? It is only set up for draining. You fill the system from the coolant reservoir. Check the gasket on the plug. If it is fine, maybe you need a new radiator?
