Have anyone had this problem before and got it fix?
Was running my vehicle and suddenly the low oil
pressure light came on and heard a light rattling
noise so i pulled to the side n had it tow home.
Losing oil pressure is an age-old problem, been around as long as there have been engines. You'll have to troubleshoot why you lost pressure, if you're not a DIYer get it up to a mechanic. Don't drive it obviously, or you'll be replacing the engine.
The last one that rattled on me it was already too late, so be prepared for a large repair bill. An 02 might not be worth a new engine, it all depends on just how good a shape the rest of the vehicle is.
Once you hear the death rattle it is too late. Time for a rebuild.
It is very likely that the damage is already done.
Thanks, i've had it park for a week now since i dont know if i should overhaul it or just get a new engine i just need some recommendations , its starts well it has a light noise like if its the lifters like if oil is not reaching.
How many miles are on the engine? If it's low you might be better off rebuilding it if no damage has happened to the block or the heads and the cylinders just need a little cleaning up. Good Luck.
A little over 200 kilometers, thanks you will definately need it. I've had several mechanics check it but none have tell me exactly what need to be done.
so with that mileage there shouldn't be anything seriously wrong with the block or heads unless it has been overheated sometime during its life. As of right now I'd recommend an overhaul if your going to keep it, if your going to fix it to sell it get a warrantied used engine. HTH
