What size battery do I need for 97 F150 with 4.6?

Asked by srdnfl Oct 29, 2020 at 09:59 PM about the 1997 Ford F-150

Question type: General

I bought this truck with a cheap, unrecognizable battery that I can't find a date
on. I am wanting to shop around for a good battery before the need arises and
without going to auto parts. What exactly do I need for this truck?

You need a group size 65 battery. Napa part number 7565 or 6565. Group sizes are universal so you can use that for shopping. If you live in a colder climate a higher cold cranking amp (CCA) battery is better but you do not need an AGM battery for this vehicle. Hope that helps! Jim
